Bing Boards introduce curated content, alliteration to search results

Bing might not yet have achieved true verb status, but it's definitely making all the right moves to get there. The latest twist on search? Curated content in search results. It's an experimental feature at the moment -- live in the US, but possibly not all territories just yet -- that delivers collections of images, videos or links relating to your query a-la Google's Knowledge Graph, but curated by a person (not an algorithm). Microsoft's testing the waters with a hand-picked selection of food and lifestyle bloggers right now, but hopes to expand this to more topics as the idea grows. Lenovo IdeaTab A1000 and A3000 available to order, starting at $189

Not everyone wants an iPad. In fact, some people might even prefer affordable Android tablets if all they want is a slate that can connect to the internet. Two new devices that fit the bill perfectly are Lenovo's IdeaTab A1000 and A3000 , which are available to order now in the US for $189 and $229, respectively. Both are pint-sized 7-inch tablets with 1,024 x 600 displays, each running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. However, the A1000 is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8317 processor while the A3000 is equipped with a 1.2GHz single-core MT6575 chip. They each come with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be supplemented by a microSD card, but only the A3000 will play nicely with 64GB modules. While the tablets both have a VGA front-facing camera, the more expensive one also has a 5-megapixel rear cam. PlayStation 3 firmware update coming June 27th, promises to fix bricked systems

Are you one of the "small number" of folks with a PlayStation 3 that was bricked in this week's 4.45 firmware update ? Though Sony's been aware of the issue since the update launched, apparently a fix isn't coming until June 27th -- that's nine days after 4.45 launched to an unsuspecting populace. The PlayStation Europe Twitter account announced as much this morning in a tweet. "We have identified the issue related to PS3 software update (4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week," the feed reads. "A new system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves that issue," it adds. There's also a bit of an apology, but that won't do much for the folks who are without their PlayStation 3 for the next six days.
